We also collect the pastoral care content you create, including care notes, care reminders, and information about the people entrusted to your care. We treat all of this information as sensitive and confidential.
How We Use Information
The information entrusted to us is used solely to provide and maintain the Pastoral Rhythm service. Your pastoral care data is used to support your care community's work — it is never used for advertising, marketing analytics, or any purpose outside of serving your community's needs. We may use aggregate, anonymised data to improve the service.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your pastoral care data with third parties. Your care notes, reminders, and community information remain private to your care context. We may share data only when required by law, or with service providers who help us operate Pastoral Rhythm — and only under strict confidentiality agreements.
Data Security
We understand that pastoral care involves deeply personal and sensitive information. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest. While no system is perfectly secure, we are committed to stewarding your data with the same care you bring to your ministry.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you choose to close your account, we will delete your data within a reasonable period, unless we are required by law to retain it. We will provide you with the opportunity to export your data before deletion.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. You may also request a copy of your data in a portable format. We honour these requests because we believe the information in Pastoral Rhythm belongs to your care community, not to us. To exercise any of these rights, please reach out to us.
Children's Privacy
Pastoral Rhythm is designed for use by adult pastoral care team members. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps.
